Oktoberfest
Touted as possibly the greatest party in the world, Oktoberfest will not disappoint! It'd be hard to go wrong at a festival
serving up beer in litre steins, playing oompa music and with dudes wearing liederhosen. Ok maybe you could go wrong with the oompa music and leiderhosen,
but beer by the litre would certainly save the day! Located in Munich, Oktoberfest takes place for 3 weeks and you can bet that by the end of it you will be on your
liver's most hated list.

Opening Day
The opening weekend is the most popular for antipodeans. Opening day is the busiest of them all and if you want to get inside a tent - any tent - then you'll have to get there early.
Most people head to the site for about 9am and queue until the doors open at around 11am. There's a parade and the first keg of beer is tapped by the mayor and all the tents start serving
at noon.

Hoptfbrauhaus
The most popular beer tent for van tour people and antipodeans is the Hoffbrauhaus. It's home to the 'Pig Peg' where bras and undies are not allowed and
will be torn off and thrown into the air if spotted. If you plan on getting inside this tent you'll for sure have to be lined up at 9am on opening day. It stays busy all day long
and if you're not in early you might not get in at all.

Food
If you want to line your stomachs at Beerfest you've got lots of choice. The pork knuckles, despite not being sure exactly what they are, are popular and delicious.
The half chickens are so tasty and there are plenty of pretzels and other goodies to choose from. These pretzels are making me thirsty!
